Reviewing the status of teachers and raising it in Iran; Challenges and opportunities

According to the University Public Relations reports, in 5 October 2016, coincides with world Teachers’ Day, special session entitled : “Review of the status of teachers and it’s raising in Iran”; was held at the National Commission for UNESCO.

In the meeting with the participation of professors, experts and authorities in the field of education, the university president: “Dr. Hamid Reza Azemati”, made speeches, about the prospect of Iran in the field of technical and vocational teachers.

In this lecture, Dr. Azemati First, commemorating cultural martyrs, introduced different forms in the field of technical and vocational education, which is currently underway in the country; then introduced and explained the universities’ role in the field of technical and vocational education.

 Referring to university strategy document, one of the strategies and goals of the university is achieving scientific authority in the field of vocational and introducing teachers as scientific references in the national and international level.

 He then given on the occasion of World Teachers’ Day, explained the importance of the teacher’s place in terms of religious teachings and stated that based on the Quran and Hadith ,  teacher’s dignity in Islam is as Divine dignity that God has granted it to the prophet and therefore being in this group, in fact, is entering into holy.

Referring to Iranian history and civilization the dignity of teachers is raised important in this country and referring to the investigations made in the field of social sciences, teachers are one of the highest trusted people in the social classes. Dr. Azemati referring to several statistical studies in technical and vocational fields said: according to this field is one of the main possible solutions to achieving sustainable economy and employment.

At this meeting, in addition, Dr. Nasiri(Secretary of Iran’s UNESCO Commission), Dr. Mehrmohammadi(Supervisor of academics university), Mr.Chahar band(President of the center for statistics and planning and human resources in Ministry of Education) and some of teachers, made speeches.
